I love you all, read it with a bit of true love for you brother.  Or Not.

I am not one for New Year’s resolutions.  Last year this time I put up a post on reloading called Zig when they Zag – Reloading Equipment.  It suggested that as people were buying up firearms and ammunition at inflated prices do something different like buy a reloading kit.  In other words not a lot about “what I will do” or what you should do for the new year.  I figure you are going to do it or not, making yourself a promise to do it, is really not that meaningful to me.

Do you remember how we all felt after Obama-mama and crew was reelected?  Do you remember how we felt with the Newton tragedy?

Many prophesied the end, martial law was imminent.  Martial law would be imposed in OCT2013, or NOV2013.   Some said sell every thing and move into gold, again, I and Brand M caution, take a balanced approach and stay flexible. Gold is down 20%, the Market (because they cheat) is up 40%.  But I bet on a balanced approach and thus am moving capital to build my retreat.   In each case on this blog I caution calm, and to “press onward” in a measured way.  One post put it clearly, Legitimate revolution takes time, patience and fortitude.  I am unsure if I can be more clear.  This is a long distance race, not a panicked sprint and “those that oppose freedom” appear to have significant advantage.  We know things are going to get worse.  Thus we find ourselves looking into a new year, 2014.  And the vile serine song song goes on.

The political establishment calls for our energy and money to support (on the liberty side) mostly “republican” (lets go to war)  candidates or the world will end.  All the while the Republican candidates create PACs with massive money to defeat Tea Party candidates.  Michael Voris has said (and I repeat), time and time again, do not put your faith in Princes.  The Police State party is slightly better than the Nanny State party but both cooperate to shred the Constitution.  Their only real disagreement is who controls the Federalist regulatory, surveillance, police state, not rolling it back.   Anyone who wants to reduce the size of government will be opposed.   When you get the mailers look at them, and decided are you going to pour more good money after bad, or use that money to help you and your family to survive.  Our society without morality cannot succeed.  I understand morality to be scientifically and culturally Western Civilization, and religiously Christianity, although I recognize that there are moral people outside my norms.  Get your neo-pagan dance on Misbehaved Woman.  BTW, I have traveled the globe and seen real pagans, so dance well, or I will call you out if we ever meet.  🙂 As long as you dance for freedom, I will encourage my Imperial Christian brothers to look upon you as we did the first druids.  A great place to store some equipment and one day to convert to Franciscans.  It is not like we are going to find them in this wilderness anyway.

Thus without getting all “New Year Resolution Army” on it here are some things I am trying to do.  BTW, New Year’s Resolution Army comes from what my old gym buddies (when I attended a gym regularly before kids) would call the massive increase in gym attendance in the first 90 days of every year the “New Resolution Army.”   Their attitude with all the guys (and girls) who didn’t understand “gym etiquette” is very similar to what our should be during the next crisis or growth in the evil state; give it time, stay calm, move forward.  Back to some things I am doing.

1.  Fear. With the Lord’s help I will continue to not be afraid.  I will write what I feel like, I will publish information that is hopefully useful about my journey.  I will associate with those I choose and I will train and practice the skills I think will be required.   I already know the eye of sauron is upon me, and thus I am not afraid!  I know I do not stand alone for the Lord is with all of His children.  The eye of sauron is upon you also, and its number one thing it wants to inflict upon you is fear and control, these are the traits of the Lord of Darkness thus I call the regulatory surveillance state that has grown up in this Nation the eye of sauron.  One of the things the lidless eye wants is to push self-censorship.  It wants to stop you from Bearing Witness to your true feelings.  You know you are being recorded, analyzed and stored thus you don’t say things you would normally say, you don’t associate with others, you don’t strength your parish, community and friends.   Well I do.   This is the soft tyranny that the eye of sauron wants to cause in the populace.   We know what is coming whenever it arrives “like a thief in the night” is punishment for our turning our back on the Lord’s morality.  We are fallen.  There are those that have worked on this for a very long time to achieve this socialist progressive nirvana.   You know it will come, what exactly it will look and when it will come we do not know, but like Noah we are moved to prepare.   Thus listen to the Lord and call Father Z for he has been called to witness.    We can be sad it will happen, we can be concern if we will be ready (we will not, you never are “ready”), but we must not be afraid.   I will continue to prepare, but not from fear.  This does not mean be an idiot, nor should we not try to defeat the eye of sauron when we can, but we must not be afraid, for ourselves or our family.  We must put our families at the foot of the Cross and then do whatever needs doing.

2.  Bug out supplies.  I have a structural issue with my bug out supplies in that we use them for camping!  Which I believe is a good thing.  My kids love to take the stuff in the backyard and just camp for the weekend.  This is good, I believe. The issue is in our laziness we never quite put the “bug out” bag back together again after every trip when we use the various equipment.  Now the equipment has “migrated” all over.  Some of the flashlights are next to the kids beds, etc.   This is annoying, and I don’t have the money to buy two of every thing so I can leave one just for bugging out.    I need to organize a faster “move” between princess camping and survival bugging out.  Also we need to take more family camping trips.

3.  Fighting kit.  As things continue I am going to put together a separate fighting kit.  This will be built around a Jumpable Plate Carrier, which basically means small  and lightweight a load bearing gun belt and a smaller backpack-like that goes on the Plate Carrier.  It will be deigned if I need to flee right now.  Your fighting kit is in most cases very different from your bug out bag, at least it is for me.  To have “rifle level” armor is 20 pounds.  Your rifle is 8 pounds, you carry another 4 – 6 pounds of ammunition.  You can end up carrying 40 pounds really quickly with no to little food.   At my finesses level and age I can carry approximately 40 pounds indefinitely and remain effective.  Thus without assistance I basically can carry a good bug out bag (40 – 60 pounds) or a good fighting kit (40 pounds) but not both.  If I were to do a “fighting bug out” I would most likely have to lose some of the fighting kit or bug out bag to be able to move indefinitely.  Thus I thought to just create a separate fighting kit.

 4.  Training.  I will continue the training courses I have mentioned.  After I get my black rifle and its MagPul upgrades and I put my ACOG scope on it, I will try for the Appleseed Project Riflemen patch again.  One day I will do the course with a .22 LR like Bill of the Prairies did, but for now I just do it with my main rifle as I want to learn this rifle to the utmost.  I want to see it get hot, I want to practice clearing jams, I want to put this rifle through as much work as possible.   I like Ammo Man for ammunition but they have not come back down to per-panic pricing except for the Mix Box deal (440 rounds for $110) which they are currently sold out of that brings the price down to what I am willing to pay.  I am waiting for them to restock that deal, and / or call them and see if I can just put buy some and they ship it when they have a chance.     If you don’t have the budget for .223 / 5.56 rounds do it with the .22.  I will also try to get to a Max Velocity class and I would also like to take a course from Mountain Guerrilla    As most  humans I have not the words for MG’s baby son, but will do the only civilized thing I know of for Daniel Morgan RIP.  Pray hard for you and yours brother and rip my way through Mexico and fight all those that annoy me for a night (or two or three…).  I already have a broken wrist  (that smarts BTW how do I set this?) and it is early.  Back to “respectability.”  I would never loose my cool because a guy I never met had a baby Son with a heart that didn’t work and reacted badly.  Nope not me.  See I am human. More drink.

Any way I could do a course each quarter that would be a lot of training.  You have my prayers Mountain Guerrilla.    I will also attend a CERT course.  We almost got to one this year (2013) but we missed it. We really need to do that course as it is full of useful information.  Also looking to see if there is any “basic medical” course at the local Community College.  I think that would be interesting.   Now remember the eye of sauron is upon the Appleseed Project, Max Velocity and Mountain Guerrilla, and the CERT class is literally training to be a “civilian arm” of the DHS, thus be very cautions when you work among these training courses and people.  However as point one suggested, be not afraid, just be smart.

5.  3-3-3. Do a better inventory of the supplies to ensure we have the three months I believe we have.  Again, we “rotate” a lot of the supplies and thus the cans are all over the place.  I need to have a better method of replacing and maintaining our supplies.  Also there is always stuff around the edges I can add such as more medical supplies.  I will continue to prepare with my “tax.”  I charge myself a “tax” per pay check for my life continuance insurance.  I don’t want my “life insurance” to only pay out after I am dead.  I want Life Continuance Insurance.  Which is me preparing for natural and man-made disasters.   For everyone, start at 3 day, then 3 week and then 3 months of being able to survive without basic services like electricity, outside water or police and fire services.

6.  Continue Soft secession.  Soft secession is a response to soft tyranny.  Soft secession calls for us to be active at the local level to express the cultural divide that already exist between the God-fearing Liberty movement and godless socialist progressives now in charge (FedGov).  We are building up our local communities to resist the ever-expanding regulatory, surveillance police state.   Americans of African descent have done this, Jews have done this, Hispanics do this.  White God fearing liberty loving gun owning white men, welcome to being a “non-popular” minority.  Don’t worry I will show you the ropes.  You are so much more with community support.  Get involved in your church where you can “naturally” talk to more of your congregation like RCIA programs, bible study, Knights of Columbus, Pro 2nd Amendment organizations such as Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).  Support and be active in locally active Pro-Life groups such as Project Daniel 5:25.  Get involved with the Appleseed Project, Canneries and Community Supported Agriculture.  Get involved with Radio Free Redoubt’s AmRRON.  Get involved in the Liberty Caucuses if you are politically aligned.  Continue to support Tea Party and Liberty candidates and causes such as JUST US if you can.  Look into supporting groups like the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) if a veteran and the Society of St. Pius X, Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and Opus Dei if Catholic.  Subscribe to the Remnant Newspaper Paper, Michael Voris Saint Michael T.V. programming to keep your morale up visit with Joe Dan Gorman over at Intellectual Froglegs,  to witness an example Ann Barnhardt and general knowledge over at James Rawles.

7. Retreat / Homestead.  I want to finish the solar well, which is back at the installer for a review or issues we have found in the quote. We believe we found some issues in their proposal that caused the price to triple.  They are reviewing our review and suggestions.  After I get the solar pump installed, the next point is to put some sort of structure on the property, that we could bug out too.  Then continue to save for the house.  Thus this year I want the solar well, some sort of “shop house” to be used for in the immediate future and that tied into the septic and water systems.  Thus I will have a little shop house / cabin like structure water and septic.  That is what I can do with out the evil usury bankers involved at this time.  We will see how this year goes and what we can do in the future.  If we can get the solar well and shop house built then we can spend some time this summer up in the Redoubt as we now have a place to park the family.  This is a serious objective for us.  Solar well finished, shop House finished, tied into water and septic and a family trip to the Redoubt land in the summer.

8.  Physically fit. Continue to stay (some what) physically fit and improve on it.  This does not becoming a member of the quickly fading New Resolution Army at your local gym.  Just do something that you know you can stick with for the rest of your life, and it can be as simple as always parking “further away” from the malls and grocery stores when you go shopping.  It can be as simple as “taking the stairs if it is under three stories” or walking around the block once while at work.  Simply walking every day for 30 minutes is a huge improvement over the average American in fitness.  Make a life change, not a resolution and then stick with it for the rest of your days.  On that note BTW, I am most likely going to get a gadget call the Nike Fuelband.  It is a gadget bracelet.  I do not sync it with a iPhone.  However in all of its gadgetry, a buddy really gets use out of its annoyance every day.  When we got to lunch he looks down at this thing and it says “…well, I have only burned this amount of calories” and thus can’t eat this or that.  I really like the constant reminders on getting your butt off the sofa every day.   Yes it is a toy, not a tool, it is nothing I need to depend on, yes it is another hacking point for the global eye of sauron guys,  but I like it and at around $100 bucks it is something I think will help me keep my mind focused on moving.  Don’t make New Year’s Resolutions about fitness, make life changes, and then stick to them.

9. Then there are the things which are life works being a better Father, neighbor and friend.  Being a better Christian including tithing what you should.  Keeping your children away from the socialist, progressive internment camps staffed by government approved union members known as public education.  Keep saving as much as you can to put down some money on some Redoubt land when you can.  Have a large family.  For me, I will have decisions to make.  There was this guy with a smaller blog (kinda of like this one) who I read for awhile before finding Survival Blog.  I curse that guy and really wish I knew the blog.   I do.  On his blog he documented his move into the wilds of somewhere, I don’t even remember where.   But he said something.  He said, that the wives that we married, when we were sheeple, the wives who expected a nice suburban life, some plastic work, and weekly spa treatments, they will not follow you.  They will leave.  He said it.  And in truth, if you think of it, it is like we are breaking a contract.  There was no “milking of cows” in our future when we got married, no picking eggs, and mopping mud like at Rural Revolution  there was no ranch, there was no American Redoubt.  There was peaceful ignorance.  We married for as she says “…skin, bones and udder..” and they married for a “…nice barn, and plenty of hay.”  And that was the deal.  Unlike her, I can see that that is actually a fair exchange, but they will not take changing the deal. Work for my hay?  Oh no, that was not in the deal.   He said it, I read it and I have worried over that bone since then.  I do curse him, that nameless blogger.  I am ashamed to say, I do.  I know not what the new year brings, but all I can do is pray and Trust God.  Sometimes it is so hard.

10.  CCS. Keep the blog moving along!  Thank you for all of your support, email and sharing, but most importantly thank you for letting me be me!  I do not know why I am curse to be the only guy who has the Benedictines Nuns of Mary and  ICE-T Body Count, as well as lovely Lefty Dizz (true blues) on my music collection, but it appears I am.  It is guaranteed I will continue to say things that you disagree with, and things you agree with.  Why? Because I come from my own unique experience.  Where you born in Cabri Green, one of the worst hell holes on the planet?  “…During the worst years of Cabrini–Green’s problems, vandalism increased substantially. Gang members and miscreants covered interior walls with graffiti and damaged doors, windows, and elevators. Rat and cockroach infestations were commonplace, rotting garbage stacked up in clogged trash chutes (it once piled up to the 15th floor), and basic utilities (water, electricity, etc.) often malfunctioned and were left unrepaired.”  And my white “separatist” friends are like “we are surprised you don’t want to live among your own kind.”  Imagine the smell, just take a moment and envision it.  Did you see Desert Storm I up close?   We all have a unique perspective and I have mine.  I have very lonely dinner parties.  Some people like this, but not that.  But as the man who saved my life, the Captain Gregory “Gomi Greg” Bushnell, USN, my most personal “sea Daddy “said “…Alex you are unique among all the people I have met, you can move between groups of people and actually feel comfortable.”  He was right, but for me it is easy, it all in how much you drink!  When a Petty Officer in The Lord’s Navy who was born in the hot, not ^%$# America Philippines was “astounded” and felt “scared” because I had a boot knife brought me up on  XO Hours (because I refuse then to be disarmed).  Captain Bushnell brought me into his office and said “…why do you have a boot knife?”  I answered most honestly at 18 years of angry inner city youth.  “Captain … every one is armed at all times, I do not understand the question.”   Captain Bushnell help many people in the US Navy and he died of a sudden “heart attack” at age 56 or so (after he left my care BTW I was his Yeoman through two commands had all his keys to his house and watch over him like a hawk).  I loved him as it is not possible to love another man.  But that is me, the lonely Bard who moves between different people and am constantly alone and astounded that other do not see the similarity.  For Captain Bushnell my journey is to do my part to try and save this sometimes worthless republic.

I have developed a non OPSEC logo for conversations for our CCS: Gear.  I have also decided that most likely our OPSEC logo will be the unsuccessful Whiskey Rebellion flag.  It is the point, remember rebellions can be and most often are, unsuccessful, so plan for success.   I plan on making CCS: Gear available soon.  Also going to upgrade my computer security a little bit, we cannot defeat the evil eye, but we can make them work a little harder.  More on that when it gets done.

Not my New Year Resolutions by any means, just stuff I hope to accomplish.  Keep myself focused and unafraid with the Lord’s help, clean up my bug out situation, build a fighting kit, attend CERT, Appleseed, get canning going again, expand our garden, and various training courses, build on my three months of supplies, stay engaged in soft secession with the GOA, NRA, FSSP, CSA, KoC, join AmRRON, support the Liberty Caucus and Tea Party candidates when I can.  Keep the blog going, create some CCS:  Gear for those who care.   Finish the solar well, get a shop / house / small barn built on the property and tied into water and septic and continue working on being a better human being.
