I was in the Darknet the last few days in various the chat rooms.  As we have explained a Darknet is simply a part of the Internet that is not publically accessible.  You can tell when you are on various Darknets by the name of their name.  For example for i2p, their Darknet suffix is “i2p.”  These are called eepSites, for no good reason.  When using TOR, their Darknet suffix is “onion.” Their sites are called TOR Hidden Services.  Once you have i2p up and running you can take a look at these two services. I am gaining skills in using and accessing the Darknet and not just using the tools.   I do not want to recommend anything to you that I have not myself used recently.    It was pretty quiet night.  I was a little surprised as the chat rooms on i2p were not filled with strange rooms dedicated to all types of villainy.  Will at least not that I could see, I don’t go looking for much on the Darknets.  Don’t walk down dark allies in the Darknet.  Trust me, there is nothing there you want to know about. 

Anyway in one of the chat rooms we were talking about the Ukraine protest and what appears to be people fighting for their self-determination.   These people are fighting for their lives and to restore their Constitution and to keep themselves free of Russia.   In the Darknet chat rooms  I mentioned that I hope that the Ukraine people would understand the Darknet so they can continue to communicate anonymously while their government spends its time trying to limit their ability to use the Internet to organize.  By using the peer-to-peer technology that we will introduce soon called the Invisible Internet Project or i2p people can get around many (most?) state censors.  On the Darknet, several people mentioned they have seen a direct uptick in people from Ukraine using i2p.  You would think these are not government people as they have no reason to avoid the government filters.  When people are using i2p it is a fair guess they are mostly communicating with each other, not the normal Internet.  TOR is bettered suited by far to communicate with the “normal” Internet, such as posting writing, or video of attacks by their Fed.Gov forces.  If your primary focus is talking to each other anonymously, then you tend to use i2p.  

I then looked at my very own i2p Router / Console, and sure enough people from Ukraine were leveraging a portion of my IP connectivity (i2p router) to move secure and anonymous traffic around.  The peer-to-peer technology of i2p means each and every person who uses i2p, must themselves be willing to route traffic for i2p between i2p nodes, not into the general Internet.  All traffic is wrapped four times and is of course completely anonymous.   I thought about this guy in Ukraine showing up on my i2p console.  If the people fighting and organizing themselves in the Ukraine can use some of my computing resources to achieve their goals, I am happy to share.  It cost me basically nothing and may be a lifesaver for someone else.  Learn to use the American Redoubt Darknet and the Darknet tools we have introduced.  Support i2p and other anonymous technologies.   Watch the Ukraine and learn.
