I am come to believe that Streptococcus pyogenesis bacteria is infused with the power of demons. Streptococcus pyogenes, better known as group A streptococcus (GAS) is around us all the time.  It is in every body that is reading this blog.  Sometimes it flares but it is rare, and we get some things like Strep throat.  However sometimes, just when things are right, when people have the wrong genes (it is believed) when people’s immune system is weaker than normal for example having a child, it can become infused with the power of the demon and can penetrate beyond the surfaces of the body and lead to Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS).

Science cannot explain how it becomes something benign to something lethal. We who have eyes that can see understand the power of the demon.  And even when we use antibiotics to kill this evil bacteria on its death it releases massive toxins into the system, still trying to murder its victim.  The demonic attacked my wife with its tool Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS). Why the demons of the Abyss have chosen to attack my family I do not know, but attack they have.

This is why the amazing amount of Masses, rosaries and prayers said for my wife have had such a positive effect.   The prayers of so many people, Masses by Father Vassal, SSPX, and Father Gordon, FSSP and so many other priest, Sisters and lay people are fighting the demonic nature of this evil infection.   It is humbling to know that so many prayers, many we cannot see or hear are helping keeping her alive.

Streptococcus pyogenes, better known as group A streptococcus (GAS) is evil.  It exists everywhere, but in rare, and often completely random it can leap from the throat or surface of the skin and grow into a flesh eating monster.  It doubles every 45 minutes.  It is quick, and it attacks everything healthy, leaving only rot, decay and death in its wake.  This is how you can see the tool of the Fallen.  It produces nothing but misery in the most painful way possible.

The Dominican Teaching Sisters of the Holy Name of Jesus of Fanjeaux praying over my deathly ill wife. This is a very unusual occurrence.

Obviously there is a medical angle to this.  Even though most of the people in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) do not realize it, they are tools of the Lord Christ.  Everyone that works for life, that works to heal are often used by Christ and his Saints.  However when you realize that something so benign can become so destruction, so fast and without warning, you realize there is a spiritual element to this also.  Not spiritual as I normally think of it, but in actual, physical spiritual element.

I want to thank you all for your amazing prayers.  I do not even understand the extent of the prayers being offered for our family by so many people we have never directly met.  But we know, there are a lot.   My wife continues to hold on, desperately trying to stay alive.  So many people from the SSPX, FSSP traditional Catholic communities and other Christians communities have said so many prayers.  Masses, prayers constant rosaries and I mean constant.  The men and women of the community essentially created a prayer vigil over my wife.  Praying constantly, ICONS, real relics.  Thus as Sister Amy Dominic said, we fight the spiritual battle, because “…that is what we do.”

“Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is a severe form of invasive GAS. It has a mortality rate of about 30% even with appropriate antimicrobial and supportive therapy.  In 60% of cases, the bacteria enter the skin from a surgical incision, minor wound or bruise, or mucous membranes.  In the remainder of cases, the portal of entry is unknown but is believed to be from secondary transient bacteremia originating in the pharynx.

Surgical procedures such as suction lipectomy, hysterectomy, vaginal delivery, bunionectomy, and bone pinning have been implicated in some reported cases.   Many of these cases have been in relatively young adults, 20 – 50 years of age.

The most common presenting symptom of STSS is abrupt severe pain—usually in an extremity, the abdomen, or chest—fever, chills, and muscle aches. Accompanying tenderness or physical findings may or may not be present. Subsequent findings include hypotension and shock associated with multisystem organ failure. This may include renal failure and ARDS. Confusion and, ultimately, coma result.”

The hospital has said, that no one has lived as long as my wife after being infected by the demonic STSS.  This is another example of your prayers having an effect.   The ICU nurse says that normally when they suspect Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) and send off for the labs to confirm, the person is dead before they get the labs back.  The fact that my wife’s heart continues to beat, and she has made even the tiniest improvement is a testament to her deep strength and the spiritual battle being waged.

We are deeply within your debt.
