Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad

Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad has decided to submit a resolution on behalf of all people from the City of Sandpoint, Idaho welcoming Syrian muslim refugees.  Here on CCS we tried to prepare the community for this fight.  Please see our  investigation about immigration in Idaho in the blog post CCS Investigates Muslim Refugees in Idaho.  Mayor Rognstad will be presenting this for adoption by the entire Sandpoint City Council tonight at the Sandpoint City Hall, address 1123 Lake St. Sandpoint, Idaho at 1700 tonight 06JAN2015.  Mayor Rognstad is encouraging all progressives to come to the meeting to support him.  I am encouraging all patriots who are in range of Sandpoint to be there  tonight to respectfully participate and express our concern with his resolution.

He expects a lot of racist comments. We are not racists.  Don’t be these guys.  Our concerns are valid and include, the security of our community and the cost to our community. If you cannot be there, I encourage you to email Mayor Shelby Rognstad at srognstad@sandpointidaho.gov, call him at 208.263.3310 or use Facebook (NSA warning) and respectfully express our concerns about security and cost.  I hope to see the Gadsden flags flying tonight.  Please share this post with as many people to get a great patriot turnout.

Mayor Rognstad is asking the City Council to reaffirm his letter he sent to Idaho Governor Butch Otter. The core of her resolution is: “The (Sandpoint) City Council hereby declares that Sandpoint welcomes anyone who is properly screened by authorities of these United States and remains a tolerant, diverse and non-discriminatory city.” There are several issues with this resolution.

Security. This resolution does not address the issue that “…the authorities of these United States…” have clearly said in testimony before the Congress including federal representatives of Idaho that at this time they do not have the ability to screen the Syrian refugees which appear to have motivated Mayor Shelby Rognstad letter and resolution. FBI Director James Comey told the House Committee on Homeland Security on Wednesday 21OCT2015 that the influx of 10,000 Syrian refugees cannot be screen. “We can only query against that which we have collected,’ Comey told the committee under questioning,” said Director James Comey. “…we can query our database until the cows come home, but there will be nothing show up because we have no record of them,” Director Comey continued.

Muslims0Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, a Democrat, said there is widespread worry over the agency’s limits. “A lot of us are concerned about whether you have enough information available to you to do an accurate vetting,” Thompson said. “You can only query what you’ve collected,” Comey responded. Comey went on to explain that an influx of Iraqi refugees after the Iraq war was easier for the agency to cope with because the U.S. had been in Iraq for several years at the time. The situation in Syria, Comey said, was “different.”

Cost. Mayor Shelby Rognstad does not acknowledge that there is significant cost to a community when we import many different peoples. How does Mayor Rognstad plan on paying for increased teachers that must deal with ever increasing languages. There are places in California who have not managed their growth were 20 or more languages are spoken in their schools.  Please see our investigation post on how these refugees companies make millions of dollars while denying local communities the resources of absorbing these refugees.

muslims-on-the-march0Mayor Shelby Rognstad does not acknowledge that many people all over America including in the city he represents have grave concern with Syrian refugees. Are these muslim refugees that he is “welcoming” to our Christmas parties, schools and malls, Syrians that have participated in the worse racial and religious genocide against Christians and other religious minorities in modern history?

Many patriots and I respectfully ask for the Mayor Rognstad to withdraw this resolution until we can rewrite it with more participation from the community. If he wants to be “inclusive” he can demonstrate it by including more people from her community to write a resolution that actually represents the overwhelming majority of the people he represents. If the Mayor refuses to be more inclusive, then we ask for the City Council of Sandpoint to vote down this resolution. Recently the Kootenai County Board of Commissioners submitted a resolution that caused little scandal by including members of its community.
