We try to start the week with a little light hearted post.  Things are bad enough, it is good to remind ourselves that there is still living to be done.  I was at an event recently. One of the family who attended the event rolled up in this vehicle. I was like that is an ATV minivan! She was like, you are right. Four kids with helmets, and a Mom deep in the Redoubt tooling through the back roads. And that machine is not cheap.

Another person reminded me that you could drive on back roads all the way to Montana. That is good to know. This thing looks like a lot of fun, but limited fuel tank. I recommended she get a gas can (or two) carrier so that she can triple her range. Now that, and knowledge of the back roads is a pretty good bug out vehicle. You may not be able to get from one side of the nation to the other, but boy you can get your family pretty dang far on the first night of a catastrophic emergency. And in the mean time it looks like a lot of fun.  It reminded me of the song “if that ain’t country” By David Allan Coe.
