“The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized.” – COL. Jeff Cooper, USMC RET
I just thought this was convenient. What rifle did the mass murder Devin Patrick Kelley use to kill 26 people attending services at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs Texas? The mainstream media has repeated it numerous times that it was a “military style” AR-15 “assault weapon” you even know that it was a Ruger.
What type of Rifle did Stephen Willeford use to drive the killer off?
Well, Stephen Willeford reportedly used a “military style” AR-15 “assault weapon” rifle. It is also reported that Stephen Willeford was a member of the NRA and also an NRA instructor. He was not a “sharpshooter” he was just an American riflemen, armed with a “military-style” AR-15 and a member of the NRA. Like many of us. Isn’t it amazing that information is not repeated on every legacy, lying, and liberal news channel? This is what we all mean when we say “fake news.” The mainstream media does not report facts they do not like.
Stephen Willeford was a member of the NRA.
Stephen Willeford used an AR-15 military-style rifle.
Thankfully the NRA has finally put up part of its interview with Stephen Willeford a former Certified NRA instructor. This knowledge also answers a question that I had in yesterday’s post. How did Stephen Willeford shoot through the “gaps” in Devin Patrick Kelley “tactical vest?” The tactical vest is designed to stop things like buck shot from a shotgun. He didn’t shot through the gaps, a .223 or 5.56 round i.e. “bullet” used by the AR-15 style rifle (M4) is not stopped by the tactical vest. It would pass through that vest like it was not there. Tactical vest are not rated to stop rifle rounds. Also, another question was answered, Stephen Willeford successfully hit Devin Patrick Kelly twice. The police have now confirmed Devin Patrick Kelly was bleeding out during the car chase, and then shot himself in the head at the end.
Now that Stephen Willeford is known to have used an AR-15 “military-style” rifle and was a member of the NRA the liberal, lying legacy media is belittling his heroic actions. Yesterday I heard Juan Williams on the Fox News channel show The Five say that Devin Patrick Kelley was “running away” by the time Stephen Willeford engaged him. He appeared to imply that this shows a good guy having a gun made no difference. None of the other members of the Five seem to have an easy answer for him.
First, if someone in the First Baptist Church Sutherland Springs Texas was armed and had the will and training to act they may have been able to defend their congregation from militant atheist demon infested shooter. Thus, yes, we acknowledge that if your priest or pastor say that you cannot carry a weapon to defend yourself and your family in their church or parish, then find another church. Next, it is still unknown if Devin Patrick Kelley was “finished” murdering people.
It appeared that Devin Patrick Kelley had run out of magazines and ammunition for his rifle. The police found 15 empty standard sized (30 rounds) magazines for his AR-15. It appeared that Devin Kelley had moved to his pistol. He was still near the church, there were still people alive in the church and he had a weapon with ammunition. He had more ammunition and firearms in his car. How does the liberal Juan Williams know that Devin Kelley was done? There is no evidence that I am aware of that suggested that Devin Kelley was “done” and was fleeing.
Stephen Willeford, an NRA instructor, waited until he could see him to engage him with his own “military style” AR-15 assault rifle. That is obvious because the military, the NRA and basic American riflemen training beat into all of us “Always be sure of your target and what is in front of it and behind it.” This gun safety rule was developed by a USMC Colonel John Dean “Jeff” Cooper who died 25SEP2006. He said it like this “Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.” Every American rifleman knows this or should know this. Stephen Willeford did know this.
“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.” – COL Jeff Cooper, USMC RET
The last thing you want is to kill an innocent bystander through the shadows the inside of the building throws. You will not hear this either from the lying, legacy liberal media most likely because they do not know, nor want to know how guns work. It does not support their opinion that gun owners are some quick on the trigger Wild West simpletons. Stephen Willeford appeared to follow this basic American riflemen training. He waited until he identified Devin Patrick Kelley, did his best to ensured there was no one behind him and then he engaged him. As he said in the one interview he has given, he wished he could have gotten their sooner. He was one block away and only took time to grabbed a handful of rounds, his AR-15 and headed off without even putting on his shoes. Watch how fast the mainstream media drops this story now that it is not supporting their political opinions. Fake News.
Stephen Willeford is a hero. His actions most likely stopped this massacre and saved lives. He used an AR-15 military-style “assault rifle” to do this. He used his training including what he learned through the NRA to successfully put two shots into this guy without (to the best of our knowledge) hitting any other innocent bystander. That is not easy in a gun fight with civilians around.
This is a perfect example of what American gun owners in general and their political organization the NRA have said from the beginning. The weapon or equipment such as the bump stock is not the issue. Evil is the point. Devin Patrick Kelley used an AR-15 style weapon to murder 26 people including children. Stephen Willeford a member of the NRA used the same AR-15 styled rifle to save people.
